What you will do
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Good knowledge of electrical power system fundamentals
- Applying the most common software tools for network modeling (e.g., PSCAD, ATP, EMTP-RV, PSSE, DigSilent, or equivalent)
- In the feasibility phase, selection of optimal parameters for the HVDC equipment, to be chosen by means of networks and performance studies
- When specifying an HVDC substation, define the station layout, electromechanical layout and selection of main equipment
- In the construction/commissioning phase, acceptance tests in the factory and on site, ensuring the quality of the products supplied
- Direct customer interaction
- Coordination of junior engineers' activities
As a HVDC Senior Expert, you will be part of our client's team working on the main power equipment/systems of both HVDC stations.
After an initial period of integration and familiarization with the methodology and approach at the Milan headquarters, entrepreneurial activity will also require the availability of periods abroad whose duration may vary from a few days to a few weeks.
Knowledge & Experience
- Master of Electrical Engineering degree
- Languages: English, Italian. Knowledge of other foreign languages will be considered a plus, in particular Spanish, French or Arabic
- HVDC main components (transformers, switches, disconnectors, filters, bushings, switchgear, leveling reactors and surge arresters)
- Network modeling software tools (e.g. PSSE, PSCAD, ATP, DigSilent, or equivalent)
- Rules applicable for conversion stations
- Years of experience: at least 10 years
Skills and Competences
- Optimization of internal and external resources
- Project coordination and programming
- Flexibility in leading counseling in widely varying counties
- Ability to interact with the customer
